ADVA Optical Networking Recognized by British Telecom

Earlier this year, British Telecom (BT) recognized ADVA Optical Networking for their advancements in sustainability and for winning BT’s 2014 Better Future Supplier Forum (BFSF) Game Changing Challenge.

Working with BT and epi Consulting, ADVA has made advances in their sustainability and CSR program to become recognized as a ‘Silver Supplier’ by BT.

Additionally, ADVA won BT’s 2014 Better Future Supplier Forum Game Changing Challenge by creating a unique sustainability focused supply chain solution that has the potential of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 750 metric tons annually.

Additional benefits of the solution include:

  • A 300% return on investment
  • Reduces BT engineer travel time by 13,000 hours per year
  • Reduces BT engineer travel distance by more than 300,000 miles

British Telecom and ADVA Optical Networking are members of the QuEST forum. In addition to their participation in TL9000, ADVA is also one of the pilot members of the QuEST Sustainability Initiative and an early adopter of the epi model now being used by the Sustainability group.
