Horia Leonescu is the Vice President of Quality Management Worldwide for the Embedded Computing business of Emerson Network Power. In this role, he is charged with driving the continued improvement for increased customer satisfaction for the business, using various quality methodologies and initiatives such as Six Sigma and the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) methodology.
Leonescu joined Emerson with its acquisition of Motorola’s Embedded Computing group in January 2008. At Motorola, Leonescu was Director, Quality Management for the Embedded Computing business where he was responsible for executing worldwide systems development based upon best practices and targeted toward simplification, while ensuring full compliance to TL9000 and International Standards Organization (ISO) standards. Prior to this role, Leonescu held various senior management positions within the Embedded Computing business with responsibilities that included quality compliance and operations.
Leonescu joined Motorola with its acquisition of Force Computers in August 2004 where he led the worldwide Quality, Reliability and Document System Management DSM groups. At Force, he also was responsible for the worldwide Repair Service Center where he was charged with managing improvements in customer service and increasing customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining Force Computers in 1990, he held various leadership positions with SEI and UCMMB/TAD in the areas of manufacturing, new product introduction, test, customer services-repair and quality assurance and also held the position of technical managing director.
During 1989, Leonescu was a partner consultant, developing a new concept for maintenance/ repair of point of sale electronic equipment.
Leonescu has earned a Masters degree from the Polytechnic Institute in Bucharest in the field of Electronics and Telecommunications. He is a member of the American Society of Quality (ASQ) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Qualitat (DGQ).
